Yuga Labs advances in lawsuit accusing artist of copying Bored Ape NFTs

An ongoing authorized tiff between NFT builders Yuga Labs and an artist and his NFT enterprise companion continues as a U.S. federal court docket denied a movement to dismiss opposition from the Bored Ape Yacht Membership creators, in keeping with a submitting on Friday.

Yuga Labs first filed the lawsuit in June towards California-based artist Ryder Ripps and the founding father of NFT market Not Larva Labs, Jeremy Cahen, accusing them of copying and promoting NFT collections and devaluing the unique Bored Ape merchandise.

Defendants Ripps and Cahen filed a movement to dismiss opposition from Yuga Labs in October, along with an anti-strategic lawsuit towards public participation (SLAPP) movement. The District Courtroom of Central California has now denied these motions.
